TRD Pro Vs. TRD Off-Road Vs. SR5 Vs. Limited: Factory Wheel Options For the 5th Gen 4Runner
Wheels can make or break the look of your 4Runner, and it can be difficult to know where to start. With that in mind, OEM Wheels are a great choice. Since these wheels are made by Toyota, they pair extremely well with the vehicle. They are lightweight, durable and they are not overly expensive in comparison to other wheels on the market.
Each model 4Runner has a different wheel. For example, the TRD Pro and the TRD Off-Road have two completely different wheel styles; both with different widths, spoke designs, etc. Additionally, Toyota offers the TRD Rock Warrior forged wheel which was initially released for the FJ. SR5 Wheels
SR5 is the stock wheel for the 4Runner. It is the cheapest wheel by far at around $150 a wheel.
I currently have these wheels because I just got my SR5 and they look fine with the silver roof rack and chrome emblems. However, as I begin to add blackout emblems, black nerf bars, black roof racks, the wheels just start to look more and more out of place. If you plan to keep the chrome running boards and roof rack, then your 4Runner will look just fine with these wheels. They are high-quality wheels that will get the job done day-in and day-out. Unlike other car brands, Toyota still designs their lowest trim wheels to have its own look.
The end of each spoke branches out a little creating a diamond-like shape in between the spokes. There are also ridges creating depth in the wheels. All of these tiny details allow for a low costing wheel to have a high-end look.

TRD Offroad Premium Wheels
If you are looking for something to match your chrome trim, then these wheels might be for you.
There is nothing wrong with the chrome and silver look, it can definitely create a flashy and luxurious look for your 4Runner. Chrome running boards, emblems, and roof racks all enhance the way the wheel looks on the 4Runner.
Offroad premium wheels are a unique set of aluminum, 7-spoke wheels. They come in two colors: black or machined. The spokes almost look like a gear with the way the spokes look to be cut off right before they reach the edge of the wheel. In my opinion, these wheels look best on a white or blue 4Runner. You also should not have chrome accents if you plan on purchasing these wheels, it just causes too much to be going on at one time. They could work with other builds this is just what I think allows the look of the wheels to thrive the most.
Like both of the other TRD Pro wheels, the bronze wheels still provide the high offroad capabilities that someone who hits the trails might need. It is hard to find such unique, offroad capable wheels at such a good price.

Limited Wheels

TRD Forged Wheels

TRD Rock Warrior Forged wheels are the most off-road capable wheels out of all OEM wheels mentioned. Forged wheels are created when a mixture of metals is put under intense heat and pressure to create the final shape of the wheel. By forging the wheels, the entirety of the wheel is the strongest it can be – and also incredibly lightweight compared to cast wheels. Basically, this wheel will take just about anything you throw at it.
This wheel looks the part of the offroad wheel as well. With the Faux Beadlock ring, this wheel looks just like other Beadlock wheels on the market without costing as much. It won’t provide true capability like a traditional Beadlock, though.

The most important part of buying wheels is knowing what overall build you have in mind.
If you are going to keep the chrome and stick to daily driving, you should go with the Limited or Offroad Premium Wheels. On the other hand, if you plan to blackout your 4Runner and go offroading here and there you should consider the TRD Pro’s or the TRD Forged Wheels.
In the end, it is up to you to determine what best fits you and your 4Runner
I have a 2021 TRD Off Road Premium with stock chrome wheels and I want to switch out to the TRD Pro wheels (PTR20-35110-BK). But I can’t seem to find the info I need on wheel sizes. Specifically, I want to know if I can just buy a set of the same 4 wheels or is there a different offset between front and back and therefore I would need different size wheels for the front and rear axles? I’m going to ultimately buy them from a 3rd party such as BAM so I want to be certain. Thank you!
2017 SR5
I had to revisit this after some years as I went in for a tire rotation at the dealer. Apparently, they told me they would not do it because the aftermarket ones I got did were not long enough and not to spec so it was unsafe. Apparently the TRD branded ones reach down further on the lug nut stud. The only spec the dealer gave me was 21mm. Has anyone had the same issue and which specific ones “pass” the dealer test so they will do the rotation?

You’re also missing the 2010-2013 6-spoke “flat spoke” 17″ wheels.
Just bought a set so I could answer this question. The 2010-2013 6-spoke 17″ wheels with the flat-looking spokes are either 17×7 or 17×17.5, have a +15 offset, and weight 28 lbs, so 1 lb lighter than the TRD Offroad 7-spoke wheels, but still heavier than the 4th gen 6-spoke SR5 design that weighed in at 24-25 lbs, 17×7, and +30 offset.
SR5 and TRD Pro wheels are both listed as 7″ wide with 4.5″ backspacing. But offset is listed as +15 and +4 respectively.
You might have the weights of the SR5 and the 7-spoke TRD OFFROAD wheels reversed. I just weighed one of the 7-spoke wheels. 29 lbs on the dot (including a few mounted balancing weights.)
I’m wanting to get the bronze TRD wheels for my 2012. The Toyota website states they are not compatable. I’ve looked at my factory wheel specs and the bronze TRD wheels but can’t understand the issue.

Has anyone experienced a problem installing the 2021 TRD Pro flow form wheels on an older 5th Gen 4-Runner? I’ve heard of some issues with mounting the wheels on the rear of Tacoma’s with drum brakes. The hub extension is evidently not chamfered on the drum brakes of Tacoma’s.

Wanted to get the TRD (bronze) wheels for my 2016 Trail, however, Toyota website says they won’t fit. Does anyone have any input in regards to the offset being a problem?
Are there actually factory bronze trd pro wheels?. I’ve never seen them, however FN makes a knock off in bronze. Your photo for that one looks photoshopped.
Yes there are factory bronze wheels, I’ve never seen them either but they do exist.
Your picture for the TRD Pros is the Gunmetal black, and the link is for the matte grey TRDs. the difference being significant. The Gunmetals have the black TRD lettering compared the goofy ass red color
