Vehicle OCD Center Console Organizer – Quick Install Overview and Review For the 5th Gen 4Runner

Vehicle OCD brand products are manufactured by Salex Organizers in Denver, Colorado

Like many of you, we don’t understand why the 4Runner center console is just a deep box. How are you supposed to store anything in there? Without organizers, it’s basically my junk drawer.

Vehicle OCD has the solution.

Established in 2012 and made in America, they have organizers for the 5th Gen 4Runner as well as many other vehicles. They are based out of Colorado and all products are made in Denver, CO. Vehicle OCD makes all of their products from high-quality plastic with a matte black finish.

Their design is simple and easy to install. Even though it is a simple product, you can tell they took the time to make sure the fitment is perfect like it was meant to be that way from the Toyota factory.

Find it online:

This is a review of the center console divider. I received the 3-pack kit from Vehicle OCD. Here is the review for the center console tray and here is the review for the glove box organizer.

Comparing Vehicle OCD’s console tray to my Amazon brand, you can tell the difference in quality. Vehicle OCD has much higher grade plastic and is not as flimsy. Something you would expect coming from an American-made brand compared to a Chinese import and only a few dollars more to get the “Made in the USA” brand.

The center console divider is 3 pieces. A center divider going down the center of the vehicle and two intersecting pieces to give you 6 total boxes inside your console.

Assembly and installation are simple and straightforward. No tools needed. You can’t mess this up!

Installation Overview

Step 1. Slide Bigger Intersecting Piece Into Place

The center piece has 2 slots for the intersecting pieces to fit into. I started with the bigger one and slid that into place making sure it was flush.

Step 2. Slide Smaller Piece Into Place

Next slide in the smaller intersecting piece, making it flush as well.

Step 3. Enjoy!

Just like that and it is ready to go into the 4Runner!

Your factory center console has a small divider that can be pulled directly up to remove it. You will want to take out everything else you have in your console. Maybe even give it a good clean before installing the organizer. I have a rubber mat at the bottom and I left that in there; it did not affect the organizer.

Once the center console is cleared, you can put the OCD divider into place. The console has 2 small ribs on each side. Put both dividers on the inside of the ribs.

That’s all! Now you can start putting your items back into the console.

What To Keep In Your Console

This divider gives you 6 sections for your items. The 4 bigger sections are approximately  3.5” x 3.5” x 5.5” and the 2 smaller sections are approximately 3” x 3”x 2”. The taller sections are great for pens, tire pressure gauges, knives, pepper spray, or anything that has some length. They are a little tight to get my hand in, so I would recommend not storing anything that can lay flat like a house key. For those smaller items, I would use one of the smaller sections.

For me personally, I put my smaller items in the console tray. If you get the 3-pack kit, then your organization options are almost endless. You have a lot of options on how to organize your must-haves.

Final Thoughts

Vehicle OCD Center Console Organizer Tray

I highly recommend all 3 organizers from Vehicle OCD, including this center console divider, the center console tray, and the glove box divider. Having the combo kit really helps keep my things organized and neat. It is no longer a “junk drawer”.

The quality is amazing and what you would expect from a Made in the USA brand. The fit is great and it doesn’t move around. Vehicle OCD has a really impressive cost to quality ratio. A lot of guys, myself included, will go for knock-offs on other mods to save money. With their cost so close to knock-off brands, why go with anyone else!

If you are looking to support more USA businesses, go with Vehicle OCD!

Man oh man! I love this organizer. Had it in my Tacoma. I now have 21 4Runner TRD Pro and it came with a Safe!!! The organizer didn’t quite fit and I tried to cut fo size but of course it didn’t work. Have you come across any product that would fit the safe? Love the content!

Sorry, I do not have any experience in safes. Maybe try the T4R Forum. Might have some luck on there!

I too purchased the OCD organizer triple threat as one of the first ‘mods’ to my 2020 TRDORP. The ROI is stout. They make much more efficient use of the space in the center console and glove box.
