10 TRD Pro Colors Toyota Should Offer for 2022

TRD Pro 4Runner - Blue

TRD Pro Colors You’ve Never Seen, Possible TRD Pro Color Options for 2022 & Wrap Inspiration for your 4Runner

Before we get started, I just wanted to give a big shout-out to @4RunnerSnacks for taking the time to create these awesome pictures! If you are on Instagram and not following this guy, go give him a follow! Thank’s Juan!

Toyota has given us some pretty awesome colors when it comes to their TRD Pro lineup. We’ve seen it all from the OG Inferno and Cement to the new Lunar Rock, but with anticipation growing for a 6th Gen 4Runner you can’t help but wonder what colors 2022 and 2023 will bring.

We can’t know for sure but we can expect Toyota to stick to neutral colors that still stand out like Calvary Blue or Army Green.

Maybe we’ll get some more vibrant colors also like Voodoo Blue or Inferno. Regardless of the new color we’ll see in 2022, it’s safe to say that Toyota will most likely stick to the three colors that have always been offered with TRD Pros: Midnight Black, Super White, and Magnetic Gray Metallic.

TRD Pro Color History

Gobi 4Runner Roof Rack - Full Roof Rack

The new color Toyota releases every year with the new TRD Pro is almost as exciting as the release of the actual truck. Three color options have always been available for the Pro models, but nothing stands out more than the unique colors exclusive to Toyota. TRD Pro colors kicked off in 2015 with Inferno, and this sunset orange-red color is sure to turn heads.

2016 and 2017 gave us Quicksand and Cement which were huge hits in the Toyota community. In 2018 and 2019 we got the infamous Calvary Blue and vibrant Voodoo Blue. And last but not least Army Green and Lunar Rock arrived in 2020 and 2021

Projected TRD Pro Colors for 2022 & 2023?

TRD Pro 4Runner - Corolla Brown

Over the years Toyota has modeled a lot of its colors off the timeless FJ Cruiser. Some of these colors include Cement, Quicksand, Army Green, Calvary Blue, and Voodoo Blue. Are there any FJ colors left? With over 20 colors in the FJ pallet, Toyota still has quite a few to choose from regarding their new TRD Pro lineup.

With that being said we still have a lot of FJ color options which could definitely be a possibility on the new TRD Pros. A couple of the colors we could expect to see in the future are Brick Red, Black Cherry. Both of these are pretty similar, a darker color red with hints of purple. We might even see some pretty vibrant colors like Radiant Red, Sun Fusion, or Magma. My prediction for the next Pro color is Sandstorm, similar to Quicksand it looks like a combo between Cement and Quicksand.

However, rumor has it the new TRD Pro color is going to be a throwback to 80’s Toyotas (think 1986 Toyota Corrolla). Similar to the picture above, we might see an old-school style gold/brownish color. Now there is no way of knowing but the same people making these predictions are the same ones that made predictions about Lunar Rock. Lunar Rock was only supposed to be a Rav4 color, but Toyota threw us a curveball by making the new TRD Pro lineup that same color.

If you want to stay up on TRD Pro colors, definitely check out TRD JON on YouTube, he sometimes references TRD Pro color options.

Wrapping Your 4Runner?

TRD Pro 4Runner (2022 Color) Brick Red

Pictured: Brick Red – Possible Color for 2022

Wrapping is becoming increasingly popular in every car scene. It’s a great, affordable, way to drastically change the look of your 4Runner all while preserving the paint underneath. If you want to stand out among the crowd, wrapping is definitely the way to go. But with an endless amount of color options/ patterns, finding the right color can be tricky.

Some of the more popular colors we’ve seen are shades of green, shades of orange, blue, yellow, you name it. Whatever color you decide to go with you should make sure it’s unique.

1. Tangerine Dream

TRD Pro 4Runner - Tangerine

This one’s for all you orange lovers. Similar to the FJ Magma, or even the Lexus Solar Flare, this lighter orange color will definitely make you stand out in a crowd. Some other common names for orange include pumpkin orange, habanero hue, sebring orange, orange fury, and sunset orange.

2. Electric Lime

TRD Pro 4Runner - Electric Lime

It doesn’t get much more unique than this. You’ll never have to worry about losing your 4Runner in a crowded parking lot ever again. This color is pretty glossy and would look awesome with color-matched accessories. Call it whatever you want; lime green, acid green, or even sublime.

3. Forest Green

TRD Pro 4Runner - Forest Green

This one is one of my favorites. It’s similar to Army Green but has more of a moody feel to it. One of those colors that would look good in any light. This color is becoming a go-to wrap color because it shoots so well on camera. You can’t go wrong with any dark shade of green.

4. Royal Purple

TRD Pro 4Runner - Royal Purple

Another super unique color guaranteed to make your 4Runner pop. This shade of purple is awesome and it looks really good with the black accents. When I see this 4Runner I instantly think Sacramento Kings.

5. Seafoam Green

TRD Pro 4Runner - Seafoam

As you can tell by the picture, this color looks like it belongs on the coast. Definitely a cool color. I really wouldn’t mind my girlfriend rocking this color.

6. Nugget

TRD Pro 4Runner - Nugget

My favorite part about this color is how it looks matte in the sunlight. This is one of those colors that would look awesome no matter the lighting.

7. Electric Teal

TRD Pro 4Runner - Electric Teal

This color will definitely make your IG pics look that much better. Whatever background you have there’s going to have a ton of contrast which could look awesome. Definitely a photogenic color.

8. Magma

TRD Pro 4Runner - Magma

If Toyota continues to go down the line of FJ colors, then this color could be a reality in the near future. You don’t see many orange cars on the road so this is guaranteed to make you stand out.

9. Cactus Green

TRD Pro 4Runner - Cactus Gray

This color is kinda similar to Ford’s Cactus Gray on their new Bronco lineup. This is another one of my favorites, pretty similar to Lunar Rock.

10. Mustard Yellow

TRD Pro 4Runner - Mustard Yellow

Yellow trucks are definitely eye-catching. This color would look great in any type of scenery or lighting but you may have to be considerate of the highlights as they may wash out certain portions of your 4Runner.

Final Thoughts

TRD Pro 4Runner (2022 Color) Skylight Blue

Bonus: Skylight Blue

We can’t know for sure which color Toyota is going to drop with their 2022 TRD Pros, but we sure can dream. If there’s one thing for sure it’s that Toyota definitely won’t let us down with their new TRD Pro lineup. I would imagine we can expect to see more FJ colors in the coming years, along with some new ones as well.

Not a fan of the color that Toyota dropped? No worries wrapping is always an available option. With more and more wrap shops opening up, it’s safe to say that wrapping is only going to get more and more popular. This is awesome because you will not only be able to change the color of your 4Runner anytime you want, but you’ll also be able to preserve your paint.

Again, a huge shout to @4RunnerSnacks for taking the time to create these awesome pictures! Please go give him a follow!

A body style update is way overdue. The same body since 2010 with the only big change being the front end facia in 2014. I love the looks of the 5th gen 4Runners but they are everywhere you look. But please, don’t go with that mammoth grille that is now on the Tundra and Lexus. No color can make that attractive.

I’d like to see the 1995 4runner green with the gold pin stripe design from that year. I think its called Evergreen Pearl. It might be boring for some people, but I use to own that model and wish I still had it.

It’d be GREAT if a graphic designer could come up with the CYMK and RGB of the existing PRO colors and these, as well…

Ohhh!!! Love all these pretty colors! Grew up in a family that only bought boring white or silver cars. No thank you, I’m so sick of blah color choices. Loved VooDoo Blue so much such a gorgeous color. Probably going to look into getting my next car wrapped, that electric teal is so much fun!

Ok so we have been circulating the color choice in my shop while customers are waiting for a chair, I put them on my iPad and and created a space for comments. Sooooo most of the responses are not so good for Toyota. Not one girl liked purple. Comments were extreme, only for people desperate for attention, extrovert buyer, etc. We also added the colors for other Toyota models. One of the funny comments for Moon Rock was they had a guy on Moonshine picked that color. lol. Anyway, out of 100 plus customers the common thread of thought is the proposed colors for 2022 are for the minority buyer who wants or needs attention and seeks it through his vehicle. Granted most of our customers are female and these color options are not for them. I think Toyota has really marginalized itself for 2022 by limiting themselves to some pretty awful colors that only appeal to a few.

Sitting at Toyota of Killeen waiting for my Sequoia service. If these are the color choices for 2022 guess I am going to hold on to my 2010 for a few years more. The salesman just told me these colors were field tested. Hmmmm not I mid America. Must have been tested using people under 20. Pure ugly!

I’m over 20 and I like these colors. Sounds like you weren’t really gonna buy a new car regardless, you just wanted to complain about something.

Actually my son and I are trying to buy two new Sequoias Limited as they discontinued the Landcruiser. The wives do not want a black, white, or silver/gray vehicle. So those are out. We are a Toyota family – 36 Toyotas in the family from Landcruiser, to Sequoia, Camry, Tundra’s, Tacoma’s and 4 Runners. Oh and 1 Highlander. Yes I am complaining as the color choice sucks for us older people who believe “if your going to pay $60,000 plus for a vehicle it should look nice” not like some fad color or like 70% of the other vehicles on the road. By the way – we work and socialize with the Asian Community. They love Toyotas, Hondas, Lexus and BMW – very few if any will buy a Ford, Chevrolet, or Dodge. They are conservative and they hate the 2022 colors. They are tired of black, white, and silver choices. Toyota is isolating a whole market of potential buyers who were very loyal to them. One more thing – women are tired of all the masculine color choices. Our local dealer came by our friends nail shop and tried to tell them “Moon Rock” was feminine. The 8 female nail techs all agreed it is UGLY! So they are also isolating the more older conservative potential female buyer. One already bought a really nice Lexus.

This has got to be Coach B. Right? Girl, nobody in your family is going to buy any of these colors. All you guys talk about is your Toyota’s. Lets face it the colors suck unless you Mexican, under 40 or from California. Even the brick red is disgusting. The coaches would laugh you right out of the parking lot if you pulled with the purple. Look your a Texan now buy a GMC or a Jeep so you do not have to get your windows tinted to hide your face when driving your Toy around. ha ha.

Ok Mike. You are right! My dad just looked at the proposed colors and agrees with you that he would not drive one to work and if I buy one I can not park it near his house. ha ha. Well I like the lime green, but I love my dad more. lol So I guess I will keep the old 4 Runner he bought me for college for awhile longer.

36 Toyotas in the family from a old Telcel, Landcruiser, Sequoia, 4 Runner, Tacoma and many Tundra’s. We all looked at the new colors for 2022. Sad – but no new ones would be seen in our driveway, except my son who is willing to have a new one repainted. Nice conservative colors are gone. My wife is not buying any of these Woke colors. The older generation prefers conservative colors – guess Toyota is done catering to the older generation who has the fiscal wherewithal to buy one Cash!

You should do some research on how no dealership wants cash. Lost opportunity to make more money on loans. This ain’t the 70’s. Cash doesn’t talk the same. Obviously they will still sell silver white and black so you can rest easy.

We have 36 Toyotas in the family. We are sick of Black, White, Silver/Gray. If you look out my office window at a parking lot full of cars 70 % or more are black, white or silver/gray. As to cash – you must be a millennial. I can assure you my dealership loves my cash, especially when it is for a $70,000 plus vehicle that others struggle to get a lone on. I do not try to Nickle and dime the dealer to death. Buyers who finance or lease are buyers who did not do well financially over their life. Yes, dealers like suckers. I am very happy to be a 70s guy.

I do like the idea of Toyota having at least one outrageous color per year. I just wish we could get some previous Pro colors on lower trims. I have a Voodoo Blue Pro but seriously looked at wrapping it in Cement.
