5 Unique Lime Rush 5th Gen 4Runner Off-Road & Overland Setups & Their Owners’ Top 5 Mods – Build Inspiration For 2023
This Week’s Topic: Lime Rush 4Runners
We’re back with another Feature Friday! This week, we are looking at unique Lime Rush 4Runner builds.
Toyota released Lime Rush on all 2022 4Runner TRD Pro models as their unique color of the year. Suffice it to say, this color got a ton of mixed reviews. However, it seems the positive feedback outweighed the negative because they brought it back in 2023 as a permanent color for the TRD trims.
Still today, Toyota’s Lime Rush 4Runners are hard to come by, so getting your hands on one is a huge privilege. What’s even harder to come across are built-out Lime Rush 4Runners.
If you are one of the lucky few to have purchased such a unique 4Runner and are unsure where to start with your build, check out the below 5 rigs for some inspiration!
Note: The builds listed below are in no particular order

Lime Rush 4Runners
1. Alex Torres (@thelime4runner) – 2022 TRD Pro
Top 5 Mods
- Westcott Designs TRD Pro Full Lift Kit
- Westcott Designs Full Modular Roof Rack w/ Floor Inserts
- Westcott Designs Rock Sliders w/ Kick Out & 20 Degree Up Angle
- Total Chaos Fabrication Upper Control Arms
- Overland Torque Tune by Overland Tailor Tuning
What Do You Like About Your Setup?
My favorite thing about my setup is how easily I can modify it and move things around depending on my needs. I didn’t want to overdo it with a ton of equipment, so my focus was on better performance. I don’t plan on staying in my truck for days at a time, so I feel like my current setup is perfect for daily driving and off-roading.
2. Spencer Winkler (@borkstatus) – 2022 TRD Pro
Top 5 Mods
- Prinsu Rack
- Kammok Crosswing Awning
- Fifteen52 Traverse HDs wrapped w/ Falken Wildpeaks
- Rago Fabrication MOLLE Interior Panels
- Canvasback Seatback & Floor Covers
What Do You Like About Your Setup?
From Baja to British Columbia, its seen everything and has exceeded expectations everywhere. Having the ability to go anywhere and still have a vehicle that’s comfortable enough to put thousands of miles on the highway has been a major improvement from previous vehicles I’ve owned.
3. Anthony Cogdell (@az_performante) – 2022 TRD Pro
Top 5 Mods
- Magnuson Supercharger
- Morimoto XB LED V2 Sequential Amber Headlights & Taillights
- 4Runner Lifestyle Raptor Grille Lights
- Baja Squadron Amber Fog Lights
- Seibon TS-Style Carbon Fiber Hood
What Do You Like About Your Setup?
I really like the Seibon carbon fiber hood as it adds a very aggressive and rugged appearance to the 4Runner, while also providing functional cooling and venting for the motor. That’s unlike the OEM hood scoop, which features a fake vent atop.
The Magnuson supercharger is a nice addition and provides more power throughout the rev range. It allows the 4Runner the ability to easily pass on the freeways and effortlessly climb obstacles off road with the new low-end torque.
The Morimoto headlights and taillights are much brighter and sharper at night than the OEM lamps and have sequential amber lights. This makes the 4Runner much more visible to oncoming or surrounding traffic without blinding oncoming traffic. The Morimoto headlights and taillights also feature amber DRLs that look incredible in daytime traffic.
The Baja Squadron amber fog lights add great lighting when the headlights seem to taper off. They cut through thick smoke, fog, rain, and dust.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with my Lime Rush 4Runner build. The Westcott Designs pre-collar lift and Method 312 wheels on some amazing Toyo R/T tires make the 4Runner drive exceptionally both on the street and off-road.
4. Christian Reyes (@cali_rush_runner) – 2022 TRD Pro

- PowerStop Z36 Truck & Tow Brake Upgrade Kit
What Do You Like About Your Setup?
It’s hard to pick and choose what I like most about my setup. Everything works great together to give me the best driving experience on and off the road (I’m sure most of us are in the same boat).
I like how reliable and durable all the parts I chose for my setup are, which I’m sure anyone can appreciate. I enjoy going wherever I want and not worrying about possible limitations. This is my first real build, so I know I have a long way to go and a lot more to learn. I have enjoyed the overall experience that my 4Runner has given me so far and can’t wait to see what is in store next!

What Do You Like About Your Setup?
What I like most about my setup is that it’s practical as a daily driver both on-road and off-road. I also love the attention I get driving down the road; the Lime Rush green is an awesome color!
Final Thoughts
And that’s a wrap on another Feature Friday! The Lime Rush is a unique color that you don’t see every day. Pair it with some awesome modifications, and you’ll catch everyone’s attention whether driving down the freeway or hitting the trails!
Greetings, I live in Edmonds, Wa, I purchased a 2023 4runner TRD PRO in solar octane last November, such a great vehicle, but you all know this, anyway, I’ve recently purchased several light mods, Morimoto headlights, raptor lights, Baja fog lights in amber, long story short, I am needing some assistance putting these as I have degenerative nerve condition in my hands and it’s really difficult, if anyone would be in the local area and find it in them to help me, I would be willing to pay, thanks for reading this, earl
I wish to be on this list too.
Here is what I got:
Prinsu full rack with Baja full light bar, ARB Esperance RTT
Method MR 703 with 285 Wildpeaks
