Whether you’re securing gear, setting up a rooftop tent, or simply reaching cargo on your roof rack, a sturdy grab handle can make all the difference. The Cali Raised Roof Rack Grab Handle provides the secure grip you need and even adds functionality as tie-down points.
Admittedly, I didn’t like the idea of adding accessories to my rack’s side rails. I’m a fan of clean lines and keeping things as simple as possible (though I may be too far gone with my build now). However, this accessory has a minimalistic design that complements my whole setup rather than adding bulk.

Installation
If you have a Cali Raised roof rack, installation is a breeze, as it comes with mounting holes pre-drilled and threaded for these grab handles. However, you can mount them to anything if you’re willing to drill. For the former, installation should take no more than 5 minutes.
Tools Required
- 1/4″ Allen key
While they are technically universal, the mounting holes require specific spacing (9.5″ between the two). Cali Raised includes the Allen-head bolts (2 per handle) needed for installation.
Design & Build Quality
These grab handles are precision-machined in the USA from 6061 aluminum for their lightweight and durability. Unlike plastic longevity, this is extremely corrosion-resistant and will not fade or crack over time. They are available in anodized black or raw aluminum and sold in pairs.
The handles feature a textured grip that prevents slippage, which is great for wet or dusty environments. I like that they don’t protrude too far from the side rails while offering enough back spacing to grab onto, even while wearing gloves.
Functionality
I didn’t think I would find much use for the grab handles at first. Until trying them, I was perfectly content with grabbing onto the edge of the side rails. However, I quickly realized how much more comfortable these were while securing cargo to the roof rack. They also make for nice attachment points for securing bungee cords and other lightweight items.

Final Thoughts
For those who frequently use their roof racks, Cali Raised’s grab handles are a worthwhile addition. Their durable construction and ergonomic design make accessing your roof rack noticeably more convenient and comfortable.
These cost noticeably less than similar offerings and accomplish the same task. I think the Cali Raised handles are some of the cleanest-looking ones on the market and are priced very well.
