A reliable air compressor is an essential piece of equipment for off-roading and can make a significant difference in your experience. The ability to quickly adjust your tire pressure helps your rig adapt to various terrains and greatly improves ride comfort.
Given these needs, the MORRFlate TenSix PSI Pro serves as one of the most reliable and efficient solutions. Their newer Gen 2 version addresses potential weak points (if you can call them that, more like upgrades) of its predecessor, making it better than ever. In this review, we will explore its features, performance, and overall value to help you understand why investing in one might be the perfect addition to your kit.

Features
Rapid Tire Inflation
The TenSix PSI Pro Gen 2 excels in rapid tire inflation. It’s capable of airing up a set of 35″ tires from 10 to 40 PSI in under 5 minutes when used with a 4-tire hose kit. This feature is particularly beneficial for off-road enthusiasts. MORRFlate doesn’t recommend using the TenSix for single tire inflation because it puts out so much air volume.
High Air Flow Rate
- This compressor delivers an impressive 10.6 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at 0 PSI for fast and efficient inflation.
- At 30 PSI, it maintains a strong air flow rate of 6.5 CFM, making it suitable for inflation tasks beyond just tires.
Versatile Pressure Settings
- In Auto Mode, it can handle pressures from 10 to 120 PSI.
- For more precise control, Manual Mode allows adjustments from 1 to 150 PSI.
Safety & Durability
- There’s an integrated thermal cutoff switch that prevents overheating and a purge valve that releases internal pressures when the compressor is not in use, enhancing safety and longevity.
- An 80% duty cycle at 0 PSI, capable of running for 45 minutes continuously and requiring just a 10-minute break after that. It can handle airing up to 6-8 vehicles consecutively.
Power & Dimensions
- Connects directly to your vehicle’s 12V battery with a peak draw of 90 amps with normal operation around 50 amps.
- Despite its powerful performance, it is compact at 14x7x9 inches.
Noise Level
- 70-75 decibels from a distance of 1 foot.
Enhanced Portability & Mounting
- The compressor comes with a durable carrying bag featuring accessory pockets for organized storage and easy transportation.
- Threaded filter caps allow it to be mounted in any direction or orientation (except upside down).
User-Friendly Air Fittings
- Equipped with a push-to-connect “Universal” Coupler that works with 1/4″ Industrial, Auto, or Aro fittings.

Gen2 Upgrades
- Stainless Steel Outlet Hose: Improved heat dissipation and heat sinking.
- Purge Valve: Releases internal pressures when the compressor is done, enhancing safety.
- Resized Aluminum Heat Sinks: Upgraded from ABS to aluminum for better heat sinking and a proper fit.
- Internal Aluminum Cylinders: Upgraded from mild steel to aluminum, improving heat dissipation.
- New Piston Rings: Made from a better material for increased wear and heat resistance, ensuring longer durability.
The TenSix PSI Pro Gen 2 beats out its competitors, operating twice as fast as the Smittybilt 2781 and 58% faster than the ARB Twin Compressor.
The true advantage of the TenSix PSI Pro becomes evident when paired with their 4-tire hose kit. Most tire valve stems, including aftermarket ones, utilize a Schrader Valve, which restricts the airflow to a small opening of about 1/16”. This limits airflow to roughly 1.8 to 2 CFM at 20 PSI, limiting even high-performance compressors to that amount when inflating one tire at a time.
MORRFlate overcomes this limitation by inflating multiple tires simultaneously, ensuring that the full output is utilized. This also prevents back pressure that can strain components, leading to a prolonged lifespan.
Real World Testing
I conducted several air-up scenarios. First, deflating my tires to approximately 10 PSI and airing back up to 35 PSI took only 5 minutes and 14 seconds for all four tires. When I tried the same test with my ARB Twin, it took almost 7 minutes.
For a more rigorous test, I dropped all four tires to 0 PSI and reinflated to 35 PSI. The TenSix PSI Pro Gen 2 completed the task in 7 minutes and 20 seconds minutes. The inflation speed in both tests was incredibly impressive and will be extremely useful for demanding off-road conditions.
Final Thoughts
With a plethora of options available on the market, selecting the right one for off-roading can be daunting. I chose the MORRFlate for its exceptional performance, durability, and user-friendly features. Not to mention, they consistently give back to and fight for our community’s access to public lands.
Its impressive 10.6 CFM dual-cylinder compressor ensures rapid tire inflation, getting me back on the road in less time. The robust construction and compact design make it both reliable and easy to transport. Additionally, features like the digital display and automatic shut-off ensure precise control. The unique upgrades in the Gen 2 model, such as the stainless steel outlet hose and improved heat dissipation, further cemented my decision.
If you have MORRFlate’s 4-tire hose kit, this compressor is a no-brainer. If you have tires smaller than 35″ such as the popular 285/70R17, or are on a budget, their FiveSix PSI Pro is also an excellent option.
