We are back at it with another Agency 6 upgrade and this time its a 3rd, 4th, and 5th Gen 4Runner specific.
We recently covered their shackle block recovery hitch mount along with their mini off-road shovel that came with the universal billet mount. And, damn were those some impressive products!
Although this product isn’t the most mind-blowing unit flying off the shelf, its still one badass little addition to the 4Runner. It’s so badass we got two of them. One for each 4Runner.
The Agency 6 Liftgate Pull Strap is a tasteful upgrade anyone can afford in a style that will fit just about any personality.
It’s also an incredibly easy installation that includes all of one bolt.
The Liftgate Pull Strap by Agency 6
Agency 6 makes an upgraded heavy duty rear liftgate hatch pull strap (A6™ pull assist straps) for the last three 4Runner generations. Offered for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner, this is one of the few products out there that have a version designed for multiple 4Runner generations.
The pull strap includes a steel mounting plate that is a direct OEM fit to the factory Toyota rear liftgate and is just over 1/4″ longer than the factory strap.
Each looped pull strap is made 100% in the USA with the Agency 6 3D PVC Logo attached.

Drop-in Installation
Super easy replacement drop-in installation. You can pull off this installation with the tools in your truck. That is as long as you have a 10mm socket on hand.
Step 1: Remove Liftgate Pull Strap Plastic Cover & 10mm Bolt
Start by removing the liftgate pull strap plastic cover with a set of plastic pry tools. Then remove the 10mm bolt inside, holding the OE pull strap in place.
Step 2: Install new Liftgate Pull Strap
Drop the factory 10mm bolt through the Agency 6 liftgate pull strap and thread the new bolt into place.

any chance the 3d or 4th gen model will fit my 5th gen. They seem to be sold out of the red one everywhere for the 5th gen?
Has anybody modded to make an actual handle that opens the rear hatch from the INSIDE yet?

I installed one of these last week, although I was a bit disappointed that the replacement strap is literally only a half inch longer than the stock one, however lookswise and functionality-wise it is a nice improvement over the stock one and the half inch really does make a big difference (that’s what she said)
Looks like a nice product..Got me thinking, in all the time I’ve owned my 4R I’ve never used that strap to close the rear hatch..I typically just grab one of the hand holds and pull it down..
Went with the Raingler as well that rubber handle is nice touch.

Raingler has a nice version of this pull strap as well. What I like about Raingler’s version is that it has a solid section to grab on to. It seems to be cheaper too (although you have to factor in shipping).
