Boslla Bullet B4 Series H11/H8/H9 LED Bulbs Full Review: The First 3-Color and 4-Mode White + Amber LED Switchback Low Beams
Upgrading to new housings is becoming increasingly popular, but what if you want to upgrade your lights and not break the bank?
Many of you may find yourself in the same boat as me, and can’t justify dropping $500+ on new full headlight housings. So, I went with replacing the halogen bulbs in the factory housing with LED bulbs from Boslla.
I started researching and found a lot of options for LED bulbs. They typically start at around $30 for some random brands off of Amazon and go up from there. I had decided to start with the cheaper route and went with some Fahren bulbs off Amazon which cost $40 for the pair. I was impressed and they were great for the price. I figured worst case, they don’t last long and I saved enough money to buy another pair.
Then I came across the Boslla Bullet B4 Series H11 LED bulbs, which are actually able to change colors! This allows you to change the color and output options based on your current driving conditions, super cool.

Introducing the Boslla Bullet B4
Sunny Mode is the default when you turn your lights on with these bulbs. To switch between modes, you toggle your lights off and on quickly. Rainy and Foggy is the next mode, followed by Hazy mode, and finally, Emergency mode. To return to the default mode, you can either cycle through the modes or leave the lights turned off for at least 10 seconds.
Emergency mode is just like having your hazard lights on but will obviously be a lot brighter. I wouldn’t use this as a replacement for your hazards, but they supplement them well if needed.
What is cool about these bulbs is that you can put them in your low beams and/or your fog light housings (If you do not have the one-piece factory LED fog lights). I think is a great idea for the fog lights considering a lot of people are leaning towards amber-colored lights to see better in adverse driving conditions.
These come with an LED driver which is maybe the size of a small box of matches. There is enough room in the factory headlight low beam headlight housing to fit the bulb and driver in and still be able to close the grey dust cap.
The LED bulbs come with a built-in fan that keeps them cool, heat is the mortal enemy of LED chips.
These bulbs are able to rotate a full 360-degrees, to give you the perfect beam pattern. More on this below in the install.
Installation Overview
If you’ve never swapped your headlight bulbs before, it’s pretty straightforward. Just pop open your hood, twist open the grey dust cap on the headlight housing, twist the existing bulb to remove, and then replace.
Notes
- Make sure to remove the glass protector on the bulbs. Then, carefully put the bulb in trying not to let the LED’s hit the surrounding housing.
- Once you get the bulb locked in, you can plug in the LED driver to the bulb. The driver can only be plugged in one way and then you twist on the lock in place.
- Next, plug the driver into the factory wiring harness. I matched positive to positive and negative to negative and they did not turn on. The bulbs have a tag on them that says to flip the plug around if the lights do not work. So for mine to work, it was positive to negative for both.
- Check that the lights turn on before putting the dust caps back on. That way, you don’t have to remove the caps again.
- Since these bulbs offer 360-degree clocking you will also want to check the beam pattern at night. You can rotate the bulbs to get the desired pattern and cutoff.
- The bulbs do not lock in like OEM halogens. The pattern isn’t that bad in any positions, but you can tell a slight difference when rotating.
- Make sure the bulbs are tight when you reach your desired beam pattern. Gently pull back on them to test fitment.

Final Thoughts
I have had the Boslla Bullet bulbs in for a few months now. Unfortunately, living in Southern California, we do not get a lot of inclement weather. I did, however, make a trip up North and can say that in the rain and fog, these were great to have. I used the Rainy and Foggy mode the most as it was very effective in cutting through this type of driving condition.
I really like the brightness of the bulbs and the fact that you have the ability to change the output and color. This is the best of both worlds, and you only need to buy one bulb versus deciding on what color you want or even swapping bulbs between seasons.
If you live in an area where you are considering new lights for varying weather conditions but don’t want to break the bank, these are great!
I had these and another pair of standard LED’s from this brand plus a set for someone else’s truck. All three sets at least one bulb died within 2 years.
Pretty cool idea!
