ADGU designs every system specifically for each make and model. Everything they engineer is tailored to the exact trim. The system here is on a 2025 6th Gen 4Runner i-Force Max (hybrid). They also have plenty of options for the 5th Gen 4Runner as well. Most of the features covered here today are also offered for the 5th Gen; however, the 5th Gen does have a few more configurable options than the 6G at the time of writing.
ADGU offers two height options for the 4Runner: low height and standard. Low height sits at 9.5″ and the standard sits at 13″ from top to bottom.
They offer a ton of configurations within their systems: multiple drawer sizes/options, dual sleeper, single sleeper, slide-out tables, configurable cutting boards, integrated kitchen systems, and more.
With an aluminum shell, the entire system is designed to be lighter weight and more durable than traditional wood systems.
I’ve tested a couple of drawers over the years, including Goose Gear, Truck Vault, and now ADGU. The detail on this system is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a system I’ve tested, and just from what I’ve seen from around the community. They don’t just make drawers; they really pay attention to the details that really make you feel good about the purchase, and you can find them everywhere you look. From the custom little mountain pattern cut into elements to the high-end materials used, ADGU really offers something pretty unique in a storage system.
Let’s jump into the post and see what it’s all about.

Platform Size and Fitment

This low-height model sits approximately 3″ lower than ADGU’s standard height system for the 6th Gen 4Runner, making it ideal for the 6th Gen 4Runner hybrid, which already has limited cargo access.
- Width Platform: 42″
- Length Platform: 38″
- Length With Sleeper: 73″
- Height System Without Sleeper Or Sleeper Deployed: 8 3/4″
- Height System With Sleeper Stowed: 9 1/2″
- Height Drawer: 5 1/4″
- Width Drawer: 15 1/4″
- Length Drawer: 35″
- Weight System No Sleeper Hex: 100 lbs
Drawer Dimensions and Capacity

Each drawer measures 15 1/4″ wide, 35″ long, and offers 5 1/4″ of vertical drawer height.
Internal usable storage dimensions provide 15.3″ of width, 35″ of length, and 5.75″ of vertical clearance.
With the low-height system, I was able to pack these drawers with everything that I need on a daily basis, in addition to some of the essentials for camping/overlanding.
This is the second time I have rearranged the drawers. The first time I tested this system was for the Rubicon, and I had more tools/hardware in here than anything: grinder, hackzall, die grinder, batteries, tool rolls, spare parts, etc.
Under the MORRFlate, I have a set of jumper cables, and behind the drawer system, I have two tool rolls and a first aid kit. The low height system allows for a ton of storage in both the compartments and behind the system itself.
Drawer Slide Performance

The drawers use full-extension ball-bearing slides with lock-in and lock-out functionality, allowing the drawers to come all the way out and stay there even when parked on an incline. This design provides safe and easy top access to gear at all times.
Essentially, you can pull the drawers all the way out, and they lock in place. Then you can slide them closed at 50% and they lock again. This is a really nice feature when you’re off-road, looking to dig through your gear, and the drawers stay locked where you want them.
Sleeper System

The system I ordered came with dual sleepers (driver and passenger side); however, I took off the driver side (40%) because I usually camp/wheel solo.
The optional convertible sleeper panels deploy in seconds without tools. When not in use, you can fold them back over the top and lay them flat, or perfect bungee the sleeper to the back of your headrest.
Hardware is recessed into the panels, and the system allows full use of the second row when not in use.
I slept on this system for three straight nights on the Rubicon, and the 60% side sleeper was more than enough horizontal room for me (5’9″ 175lbs); however, with the Luno mattress fully inflated, the distance between your body on the roof is pretty minimal. It was tight for sure, but I am also used to sleeping in an RTT or on my base plate in the back of my 5th Gen 4Runner. So this proximity to the roof when sleeping is going to take some getting used to.
Materials and Surface Options

ADGU offers premium surface materials, including Black Hex (pictured inside the drawers) for everyday spills and outdoor use, and Richlite (pictured on top of the system) for extreme durability in demanding environments.
Both materials are designed for long-term use and easy maintenance.
Aluminum Construction

The system uses an ultra-light aluminum frame that is significantly lighter than plywood or steel alternatives. The total system weight without the sleeper using the Hex surface is approximately 100 lbs. Not bad at all for a full storage system with a sleeping platform.
The tables are pretty light as well, so if you add two tables and the additional cutting board, you will end up with a ton of usable surface area with a minimal weight difference.
Installation and Mounting
![]()
The system is mounted via two bolts in the rear near the back seat and then two side wing brackets in the front by the lift gate. The mounting system is very similar to what most drawer systems on the market use.
Slide Out Tables

The integrated slide-out tables deploy instantly with no locks or latches and recess back into place with minimal tolerances. They provide a strong and stable surface for cooking, food prep, or gear staging. When not in use, the tables slide inside the system and remain silent and rattle-free.
Cutting Board

The optional cutting board slots directly onto the top of either drawer in both a straight or perpendicular setup, creating a clean and functional prep surface for camp cooking, however you want it and wherever you want it. The cutting board has four hard rubber slotted mounting feet that are pre-notched to fit pretty much anywhere. The mounting feet are really pretty impressive on this board. This board is super easy to remove, easy to clean, and stows flat on top of either drawer when not in use.
Surface D Rings

Surface-mounted D rings are integrated into the top deck to provide secure tie-down points for fridges, gear boxes, or recovery equipment. Their low-profile design and 3d printed d-ring guards keep the deck flat and usable while still offering strong load retention.
Locks

Each drawer features a secure locking mechanism with keys provided that keeps gear protected, prevents drawers from opening unintentionally, and keeps people out.
Dividers

The drawers are pre-drilled with divider slots and include three HDPE dividers for both sides to help organize tools, recovery gear, or camping equipment. Divider placement is adjustable, allowing the drawer layout to be customized to your specific storage needs. This is incredibly nice considering most drawer systems do not come with precision fit dividers.
Warranty and Support

ADGU backs the system with a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. If a component fails, replacement parts are covered, excluding cosmetic wear, reinforcing the brand’s focus on long-term durability and continuous improvement.
Since this was an early prototype unit for the 6G, we did get the wrong wings on both sides. I emailed AGGU, and they were super quick to send out the correct side wings and sent some merch to make up for the headache. I love it when brands are quick to send replacement parts. The service with ADGU has been on point. They are super responsive, and they just make it right. They also have upgraded side mounting brackets and will be sending those out free of charge as well. Big props to ADGU for just making sure our setup is dialed.
Final Thoughts
![]()
The attention to detail is next level.
One of the biggest selling points of this system for me was the amount of table top surface area to cook, prep, and work.
With two slide-out tables and the cutting board on top of either drawer, there is more than enough surface area to utilize for any job, whether it’s cooking, trail repairs, or anything else.
The quality is there, the customer service is there, and the details throughout this system really do take it to another level.
The only downside to this product is the price. If you can stomach the spend, I say go for it. When compared to other systems on the market, AGDU does have one of the highest quality units I’ve seen in a while.
Another potential downside is the lack of a fridge slide on top of this system, although they do offer a kitchen-focused system with a low-height fridge slide… It’s just not avail for the 6G 4Runner yet. If you do buy this system, you will need to bolt your own fridge slide to the top of the unit. I am currently debating grabbing a tilt fridge slide for the 40% side in order to mount my APL35.
I originally wanted the kitchen system for the 6G, but they did not yet have it ready. Who knows, we may upgrade in the future.
Regardless, this is a killer system, and it was incredibly nice to have when out camping on the Rubicon for a few days.
