Aftermarket Aluminum Battery Clamp for the 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner

A simple, yet eye-catching upgrade for the 5th Gen, is an aftermarket battery clamp. There are a few manufacturers out there, that produce battery clamps, but Ellis Precision makes one of the coolest, in my opinion.

The OEM battery clamp that covers our stock Panasonic battery is pretty chintzy, to say the least. The design and material of our OEM battery clamp will work fine but if you are looking for something a little extra, consider one of these battery clamps from Ellis Precision.

Ellis Precision also makes a pretty bad ass shift knob for the 5th Gen 4Runner, Tacomas, Tundras, and the FJ Cruiser. These shift knobs are available in many different colors with multiple etching options. We covered the shift knob awhile back and knew we had to grab one of these battery clamps as well. The products that Joel (Ellis Precision) produces is of absolute quality, a conversation piece and a notable design element in my truck. I knew I wanted another Ellis mark on the 4R, so here we are.

The billet aluminum battery clamp is available in multiple color options as well as multiple cosmetic aluminum anodize finishes. You can also have custom finishes if you would like. The price may be a little higher but well worth it to add that final touch to “your” truck.

Aluminum came as a natural choice, as it was plenty strong, yet light enough for an application such as a battery clamp, and allowed for a cosmetic aluminum anodize finish to be applied. In addition to the corrosion prevention properties of the anodizing, this finish would also act as an insulator, preventing a dead-short if the anodized battery clamp were to come into contact with the battery terminals during installation.
